Advent had come again, the most beautiful Advent of all；
that life of real expectation. When the long evenings set in
and we met around the fireplace, there was the same atmos-
phere, which can only be characterised by that untranslatable
word, “gemütlich”. There was something new, which one
could feel but not put into words. That mood of cheerful
anticipation had taken hold of the whole family.

また降臨節がやって来ました．これまでの中で最も素晴らし
い降臨節；キリストの本当の寿命なのです．長い夜が始まると、
私たちは暖炉の周りに集まりました．「気持ちの良い」という
翻訳不能な言葉でしか特徴づけられないいつもの同じ雰囲気が
ありました．何か新しい空気が漂っていました．それは言葉に
はできないのですが、何か感じるものがありました．家族全体
の心を掴んだ陽気な期待ムードがあったのです．
