the announcement of my engagement. "
The moment I read that, something flared up within me.
I sat down immediately and, without any salutation, I put
my one strong feeling down on paper :
" My eyes are none of your business.
I thought you were a man and kept your word.
I am sorry. I was mistaken."

した。
「私の目は、大佐には関係のないことですわ。大佐の人望
を信じておりました。ご発言も守っていただけると思っ
ておりました。すみません。私が間違っていました。」
