最後のセンテンス、
my upbringing had been more that that of a wild boy
than that of a young lady.
ですが、「同じ事柄を違う様式で比較」していて
「～というよりはむしろ．．．」と訳します．
that は upbringing のことで代入すると、
my upbringing had been more the upbringong of a wild boy than the
upbringing of a young lady.
ただしここだけの実験文です。答案用紙に書いたら不合格です．
もっと分かりやすく現在形でみますと、
my upbringing is more the upbringong of a wild boy
than my upbringing of a young lady
比較級を理解するには、たくさん見慣れるのが一番だと思います．
